Italian Fascist Designed Albanian Coins- Fashisti Italian Dezinjoi Monedhat Shqiptare

Giuseppe Romagnoli was a former Italian Military man. He obtained unlimited discharge from the army, without ever having performed military service.  In 1953 Romagnoli, at the time still resident at via Spallanzani 11, was recommended by Monsignor Giovanni Costantini, president of the Pontifical Central Commission for Sacred Art. 

Romagnoli  directed the School of the Art of the Medaglia della Zecca from 1909 to 1952 and in addition to his activity as director, curator of the historical collections and teacher of modeling of the School, he was a prolific artist who with his work "told" an important part of the history of the Fascist Nation.

Romagnoli was assigned to design the coins of this new country Albania that was under the Italian protectorate.

Apart from appeasing the fascist government in Italy, Romagnoli had few ideas. He enjoyed pilfering the history of Greece.

Characters like Alexander the Great, Hercules, and Pallas Athena would be appropriated by him and used on Albanian or Italian coinage. 

Giuseppe Romagnoli ishte një ish-ushtarak italian. Mori lirim të pakufizuar nga ushtria, pa kryer asnjëherë shërbimin ushtarak. Në 1953 Romagnoli, në atë kohë ende banues në via Spallanzani 11, u rekomandua nga  Giovanni Costantini, president i Komisionit Qendror Papnor për Artin e Shenjtë.

Romagnoli drejtoi Shkollën e Artit të Medaglia della Zecca nga viti 1909 deri në vitin 1952 dhe krahas veprimtarisë së tij si drejtor, kurator i koleksioneve historike dhe mësues i modelimit të Shkollës, ai ishte një artist pjellor- kopjac që me veprën e tij "rrëfeu" një pjesë të rëndësishme të historisë së Kombit Fashist.

Romagnolit iu caktua projektimi i monedhave të këtij vendi të ri, Shqipërisë që ishte nën protektoratin italian. Këtu janë disa monedha të Shqipërisë që ka projektuar Giuseppe Romagnoli. Përveç qetësimit të qeverisë fashiste në Itali, Romagnoli kishte pak ide. I pëlqente të grabiste historinë e Greqisë.

Personazhe si Aleksandri i Madh, Herkuli dhe Pallas Athena do të përvetësoheshin prej tij dhe do të përdoreshin në monedhat Shqiptare ose Italiane.
