Piana dei Greci/Plana Graecorum/Plains of the Greeks

Ottomans invaded Epirus sometime in 1430. Many Epirotes left the country for Magna Grecia, South of Italy, in order to escape the cruel Turks.

Giovanni Borgia was the son of Pope Alexander VI. He was later murdered by his own brother, Cesare Borgia. The date of birth of Giovanni Borgia is different in all the sources, and it has to do with many mysteries surrounding the House of Borgia.

In 1488 Giovanni Borgia gave Epirotes what he calls “Greek Albanians” some land in the South of Italy that would be called Piana dei Greci- The Plains of the Greeks.

The same thing as above is confirmed in this photo below. Greek Albanians were given land in 1488.

Piana dei Greci was also called, Plana Graecorum- Plains of the Greeks in Latin.

Giovanni Massa, Italian, says that “Albanian Greeks” came from Epirus when Ottomans took possession of Epirus. But Albanians were not Greeks, and they know that themselves. Italians call Epirotes Albanians many times as part of their disinformation campaign.

Italians knew that Epirotes were Greeks. Even Barleti, a Serb priest who was converted to Catholicism, and that Albanians claim that is Albanian, mentions that Epirotes were Greeks.

In 1862 Vittorio Emanuele II King of Italy, changed the name of Santa Sofia in Calabria (Sicily - Piana dei Greci) to Santa Sofia of Epirus, because of the Epirotes who moved there.
Why didn’t he call it Santa Sofia of Albanians?

No one spoke Albanian at the Santa Sofia D’Epiro. All the religious ceremonies were in Greek and Latin.

Later Vittorio Emmanuele the III was proclaimed the King of Albania. These are Greek women at Piana Dei Greci. Albanians claim that they are Albanian.

The website of the Piana dei Greci admits that Piana was Greek and then had a name change to Albanian, but doesn’t explain the reason. This change happened in 1941 with the rise of Fascism and right when Mussolini declared war on Greece. He was looking at Albanian as their allies.

Piana dei Greci was run by Italian mafia and fascists who were committing crimes in Sicily. Some of these people were being sent to Albania. Vito Stassi, un delitto senza colpevoli.

Mussolini was interested in the occupation of Albania and gaining the Albanian interest. So he changed the name of the Piana Dei Greci to that of the Piana dei Albanesi.

Albanians to this day, lie that Piana dei Albanese was never called Piana dei Greci.

The author says that the colony of “Greek Albanians” who profess the Greek rites are mixed with Sicilians at Piana dei Greci. But Albanians were not Greeks.

But why are no Albanian toponyms in Sicily? No Albanian cities?

Where is the Albanian iconography at the Piana dei Albanesi? Why are they all Greek Byzantine?

While Epirotes have moved to Italy since before Christ.

Other than Italians, no one else claims that Albanians moved to Italy.

Epirotes moved to Sicily when Albanians did not exist.

Epirotes fought the Romans. Albanians all their lives fought Epirotes.
