1913 The Creation of Albania- Viti 1913 Krijimi I Shqiperise

Albania is a country created by the London Treaty within the Greek territory of North Epirus, Greece. 

Albania was founded in the same year as the New Statesman, a socialist left-wing publication.  Some facts regarding the recently formed nation of Albania are presented in this publication.

Author: “Albanian tribesmen to be formed into anything that could be described as an autonomous state… Italy and Austria want to make Albania a cause of trouble”

Author: “Scutari is in the hands of Great Powers. The North East of the Country is a No Man’s Land, the wild mountainous tribes of which stand entirely alone… Finally, the large slice of North Epirus, which Powers propose to incorporate with Albania, is in Greek hands and the inhabitants are prepared to resist union with Albania, by force of arms, if necessary.

The New Statesman claims that Austrian and Italian have their eyes on the forests of Epirus and want to force Epirotes into Albania…and that Epirotes are making preparations for resistance.
