Jon V Palaiologos stopped by Grammata Bay - (Perandori Palailogos ndaloi ne Grammata)

Karl Patsch was an Austrian Historian, Slavicist Archaeologist and Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the German Archaeological Institute, the Austrian Archaeological Institute, and the Chairman of the Antiquarian Department of the Balkan Commission. One of his famous books about Albania is The Sanjak of Berat in Albania published in 1904. 

This book is important because it mentions the Greek inscriptions of Grammata Bay.

Një nga librat e tij të famshëm për Shqipërinë është Sanxhaku i Beratit në Shqipëri, botuar në vitin 1904.Ky libër është i rëndësishëm sepse përmend mbishkrimet Greke të plazhit Grammata.

In the same book Carl Patsch has published the Greek inscriptions of the Grammata Bay or Grammata Bay.  Në të njëjtin libër, Carl Patsch ka botuar mbishkrimet Greke të Plazhit Grammata ose Gjirit Grammata.

In one of the inscriptions below, the author discovers that : In the year (1369 AD), Emperor John V Palaiologos traveled to Avignon to seek help from Pope Urban V against the Ottomans. Our inscription shows that he stopped at Grammata Bay on his way to Venice.

Në një nga mbishkrimet më poshtë, autori zbulon se: Në vitin (1369 pas Krishtit), Perandori Jon V Paleologos udhëtoi për në Avignon për të kërkuar ndihmë nga Papa Urban V kundër Osmanëve. Mbishkrimi i nenvizuar tregon se ai u ndal në Gjirin e Grames gjatë rrugës për në Venedik.
