Horace, Acroceraunia & Media - Horaci, Acroceraunia dhe Medea

Famous Roman poet Horatius Flaccus mentions Acroceraunia in one of his works, Opera I. 

Some verses from the poem/ode:

"What form of death could he have feared,

who gazed, dry-eyed, on swimming monsters,

saw the waves of the sea boiling,

and Acroceraunia’s infamous cliffs?"

Below he mentions the river Acheron in Epirus:

"and far away, quickened their step.

Daedalus tried the empty air on wings

that were never granted to men:

Hercules’ labours shattered Acheron"

(Poeti i famshëm romak Horatius Flaccus permend Acroceraunia në një nga veprat e tij, Opera I.

Disa vargje nga poema/odeja:

"Çfarë forme vdekjeje mund të kishte frikë,

që vështronte, me sy të thatë, përbindëshat që notonin,

panë valët e detit që vlonin,

dhe shkëmbinjtë famëkeq të Akroceraunias?"

Më poshtë ai përmend lumin Akeron në Epir after Janines:

"dhe larg, shpejtuan hapin e tyre.

Dedalus provoi ajrin bosh me krahë

që kurrë nuk iu dhanë burrave:

Punët e Herkulit shkatërruan Akeronin"

Horace mentions Albanians near the Media. Medes were people living in Media and included people of Azerbaijan (one time Caucasian Albania), and Daghestan So he knew that Albanians were not natives to Europe. 

In his poem he says: 

"Gentle on the enemy

Now the hands of the sea and the land are mighty

The Medes, and the Albanians, fear the axes: 

Now the Scythians are asking for an answer, their pride"

In other posts we have mentioned how Alanes, the Albanians of the Caspian came from Media. 

(Horace i përmend Shqiptarët pranë Medeve. Medete ishin njerëz që jetonin në Media dhe përfshinin njerëzit e Azerbajxhanit (një herë Shqipëria Kaukazit), dhe Daghestanit.  Kështu ai e dinte se Shqiptarët nuk ishin vendas në Evropë.

Në poezinë e tij ai thotë per Albanet e Medese.

“I butë me armikun

Tani duart e detit dhe e tokës janë të fuqishme

Medët dhe Shqiptarët kanë frikë nga sëpata:

Tani Skythet po kërkojnë një përgjigje, krenarinë e tyre"

Në postime të tjera kemi përmendur se si Alanët, shqiptarët e Kaspikut kanë ardhur nga Media.
