French Statistics on Population & Schools of Epirus - (Revista Franceze mbi Popullsinë dhe Shkollat ​​në Epir)

In 1878, the French Economic Journal published figures on Epirus' population and schools.

The journal writes:

In Epirus: 379 schools, attended by 24,463 pupils; Greek population, 617,892.

In Thessaly, some 200 schools, attended by 9,940 pupils; Greek population: 311,000.

In Macedonia: 638 schools, attended by 32,825 pupils; 3 learned societies and 25 associations for primary education. The Greek population numbers 1,082,700 souls; the annual expenditure on schools amounts to 520,000 drachmas.

The French Economic journal also published information on the population of Epirus. The Magazine writes that there were 470.000 Greeks in Epirus in 1878 and 290.000 Greeks in Albania. Albania was North of Epirus.
