The Albanization of Toponyms by King Zog- (Shqiperimi I Toponimeve nga Mbreti Zog)

In 1938 King Zog decided to manipulate and Albanize the toponyms all over the country so as to conceal the origins of the population. The Albanized toponyms are available at the 1938 Fletorja Zyrtare published by the Albanian Government of King Zog. 

Në vitin 1938, Mbreti Zog vendosi të manipulonte dhe Albanizonte dhe degjeneronte toponimet në të gjithë vendin, në mënyrë që të fshihte origjinën e popullsisë. Toponimet e Albanizuara janë tek Fletorja Zyrtare e vitit 1938, botuar nga Qeveria Shqiptare e Mbretit Zog.

At the prefecture of Himara King Zog's government decided to change the name of the Greek village of Vuno to the stupid name Malaj that has no meaning whatsoever. Në prefekturën e Himarës, qeveria e Mbretit Zog vendosi të ndryshojë emrin e fshatit Grek të Vunoit në emrin idjotesk Malaj që nuk ka asnjë kuptim.

In the prefecture of Saranda you can see how they  changed the name of ancient Saranda- Άγιοι Σαράντα to Zogaj, and Ksamili -Εξαμίλι to Mulliri (that in Albanian means Mill).

Në prefekturën e Sarandës mund të shihni se si ndryshuan emrin e Sarandës së lashtë (Άγιοι Σαράντα) në Zogaj dhe Ksamili (Εξαμίλι) në Mulliri (që në shqip do të thotë Mulliri).
