Chrysondyon (Greek: Χρυσονδύων, acc. Χρυσονδύωνα), also known in Latin sources as Codrio or Codrion, was an ancient fortified town situated in Gramsh, Epirus.
Albanians claim that there is an Illyrian castle there. The name of the area comes from the Mythology Chrysos is cited as a son of Zeus (the king of the gods) and Dione an Titaness/oceanid associated with sacred oracles, most famously worshiped alongside Zeus at Dodona in Epirus). The castle has massive Pelasgian walls
Here are coins of Zeus Dodonaios that Epirotes worshipped and Dione is in the coin with Zeus.
In order to hide the Greek origins Albanians gave the castle a ridiculous name Kalaja e Irmajt. This was a castle of Dessarates Epirote tribes and the Albanian researcher admits this in his article
Qe te fshehin historine Greke te keshtjelles Shqiptaret I vune nje emer absurd Kalase duke e quajtur Kalaja e Irmajt. Studjuesi Shqiptar e pranon qe kjp eshte nje kala e fiseve Dasarete Epirote
