The Name Souli Comes from Σελλοί - Emri Suli Do te Thote "Grek"

 Pouqueville writes that the Ancient Souli was called Selleide. That is the ancient name Σουλάϊδα or Soulaida.  

Pouqueville shkruan se Souli i lashtë quhej Selleide. Ky është emri i lashtë Σουλάϊδα ose Soulaida.

Pouqueville calls Selleide Souli. He says: South of the Selleide or region of Souli, leaving the left bank of the Acheron...  Pouqueville e quan toponimin afer Dodones Selleide ose Souli. Ai thotë: Në jug të Selleide ose rajonit të Soulit, duke lënë bregun e majtë të Acheronit...

Konstantin Karapanos in his book about Dodona writes: "One might perhaps find some affinity between the name *Selles* and that of the present-day district of Souli, located southwest of the Dodona valley and sometimes including that very valley within its boundaries. Apart from this district, there is also a village northwest of Dodona that bears the same name, Souli"

Konstantin Karapanos në librin e tij për Dodonën shkruan: "Ndoshta mund të gjesh njëfarë afërsie midis emrit *Selles* dhe atij të rrethit të sotëm të Soulit, i cili ndodhet në jugperëndim të luginës së Dodonës dhe nganjëherë përfshin pikërisht atë luginë brenda kufijve të tij. Përveç këtij rrethi, ekziston edhe një fshat në veriperëndim të Dodonës që mban të njëjtin emër, Souli"

Rabusson writes: "These children of Selleis, these children of Souli whose courage we admired and whose sorrows we shared, yes, in this way of feeling and fighting, I recognize them! I recognize there the traits of my race! Yes, you are, you must be the remnants of our fathers, left there as if to one day bear witness to the great events of our history!"

Rabusson shkruan: "Këta fëmijë të Selleis, këta fëmijë të Soulit, guximin e të cilëve e admiruam dhe hidhërimet e të cilëve i ndamë, po, në këtë mënyrë të të ndjerit dhe të të luftuarit, unë i njoh ata! Unë i njoh atje tiparet e racës sime! Po, ju jeni, ju duhet të jeni mbetjet e etërve tanë, të lënë atje sikur një ditë do të dëshmoni ngjarjet e mëdha të historisë sonë!"

Aristotle writes that Selli were the Greeks or Hellenes that were living at Dodona. Aristoteli shkruan se Selli ishin Grekët ose Helenët që jetonin në Dodonë.

Other sources say that Selloi is just a form of Helloi that means Hellenes. 

Burime të tjera thonë se Selloi është vetëm një formë e Helloi që do të thotë Helenë.

That Selloi Σελλοί were the Hellenes is confirmed by Pliny. The name comes from Ἑλλοί that means Hellenes. Që Selloi Sellët ishin Helenë është konfirmuar nga Plini. Emri vjen nga fjala Ἑλλοί që do të thotë Helenë.

That Selloi were Greeks at Dodona is confirmed by Sophocles. He says Selloi or Ἑλλοί comes from Ellin Ellas and that they were a Greek prehistoric tribe at Dodona. 

The Selloi Σελλοί) were an ancient Greek tribe inhabiting Epirus in ancient Greece, in a region between Dodona—site of the oldest reported oracle—and the Achelous river. From Selloi comes Souli and the inhabitants of the tribe are Suliotes.

Që Selloi ishin Grekë në Dodonë konfirmohet nga Sofokliu. Ai thotë se Selloi ose Ἑλλοί vjen nga fjala Ellin Ellas dhe se ata ishin një fis prehistorik Grek në Dodonë.

Selloi (Σελλοί) ishin një fis i lashtë Grek që banonte në Epir në Greqinë e lashtë, në një rajon midis Dodonës - vendi i orakullit më të vjetër të raportuar - dhe lumit Akeron. Nga Selloi vjen Souli dhe banorët e fisit janë Suliotë.
