Director of BAV about Epirotes & Albanians- Drejtori i BAV Per Epirotet & Shqiptaret

Archbishop Josephus Simon Assemani was born in Hesron Montis Libani/Lebanon. He became the archbishop of Tyrus a Phoenician city and then later Librarian and Director of Vatican Library.  In his book "Calendaria Ecclesiae Orientalis" he writes about Epirotes, Macedonians and Albanians. 

He writes: " But because the Albanians arrived in the seventh century in that region, which the ancient Macedonians and Epirotes had inhabited"

Kryepeshkopi Josephus Simon Assemani lindi në Hesron Montis ne Liban. Ai u bë kryepeshkop i Tyrus, një qytet Fenikas dhe më vonë bibliotekar dhe drejtor i Bibliotekës së Vatikanit. Në librin e tij "Calendaria Ecclesiae Orientalis" ai shkruan për Epirotët, Maqedonasit dhe Shqiptarët.

Ai shkruan: "Por për shkak se Shqiptarët mbërritën në shekullin e shtatë në atë rajon, I cili banohej nga Maqedonasit dhe Epirotët e lashtë".

Below he writes: 

"That the Epirotes and Macedonians were indigenous peoples of those regions, and thus counted among the ancient Greeks, there is no doubt"...but as for those who are now called Albanians, Arbanenses, and Arnauts, there is no one who does not know that they are newcomers...whether from Asiatic Albania, or rather from White Serbia, or from elsewhere"

Më poshtë ai shkruan: 

"Nuk ka dyshim që Epirotët dhe Maqedonasit ishin popuj indigjenë të atyre rajoneve dhe kështu numëroheshin midis Grekëve të lashtë"... por sa i përket atyre që tani quhen Shqiptarë, Arbanezë dhe Arnautë, nuk ka njeri që nuk e di se janë të ardhur... qoftë nga Shqipëria Aziatike, ose më saktë nga Serbia e Bardhë, apo nga gjetkë"
